New post-Where oh Where???

So, where should we go, what should we do? Majority of the fam doesn't want to go someplace cold, so that leaves out most of the country. Florida is too far and the flights would be too much money. So, basically, where in CA should we go? I think we should go to San Diego.

Where are we going?

Crazy.

Your name is Hellina, and you're in a handbasket. *rim shot*

So seriously, after Christmas.

I vote for San Diego or San Fransisco. My concern about Oxnard is that there isn't much else to do there besides the beach, as least from what I can tell. You can try to convince me otherwise. :)

San Diego would be warmest. We could get a house on the beach. San Fran would also be fun...lots to do and it's one of the coolest cities ever. But expensive.

Or we could just drive across the border down to Cabo. :)

I'm down for San Fran, but I'm afraid the boys in the fam (older boys) would get hit on too much by other men. hahahahah. har har.

So would we get one place in San Fran or stay in several different places/hotels??

Or we could drive to Mazatlan. Some family friends of Ryan's do it every year for Christmas from Utah.

And, not that I'm set on MX or anything, but quite honestly I bet there is a cheaper way to go to Cancun, or another place in MX, like Cabo. It would just take some research which I could do. Or is that idea totally out of the question? Or am I totally naive in thinking it could be cheaper? Just offering some ideas.

Oh and yes, Carly you are probably right...har har.

Actually, Carly, that happened to me more in LA than in SF. In fact never happened in SF.

im up for anything in Mexico. Other than that, no preference besides snowboarding.

I say we go to Coronado. (right next to San Diego) It's very pretty, warm, has the beach etc. Or anywhere else you want to go. But that's my input.

Lindsay:

Look into flying into Merida and staying there for two days and then three days at Can Cun.

So Lindsay, do you mind being our travel agent as well as our accountant?
I would love to go to Mexico since I have never been out of the country and we have all these fluent spanish speakers in our family.
Kelli, I think Coronado sounds great as well.
I really just want to go to a place where we can all relax and have some fun being together.

Lindsay said...

No, of course I don't mind. I just expect a 20% commission (sp?). (Just kidding, just kidding!)

I'm looking into MX. If we decide to stay in the US, I've heard back from a few nice places in San Diego and I can look for places in Coronado.

Thanks Lindsay- especially since you are so busy with your little boys. Keep us all informed.

family
I haven't been boarding in a couple of years lets hit the slopes

This has to be quick, the boys are going crazy.

Did some research and found a much better price for Cancun. The trip itinerary would be:
--Two nights in Merida to see ruins
--One night in Chichen Itza to see ruins
--Four nights in Cancun

We would be driving from Merida to Chichen Itza to Cancun--about 4 hours total.

What do you all think??

Sounds great to me!
Bob?

You live in the same house Mom, you could probably talk to him there. In fact you both sleep in the same room and the same bed.

Rob said...

just teasing

Lindsay said...

I emailed Dad the info already and he said to see what you all think. He likes the price better, I believe.

So Rob, aside from the teasing, what do you rhink? Anyone else?

I think we should just go to San Diego or Coronado. As long as we don't have to stay in one place for a few days then go to another place for a few days.

lets do mexico
sorry nate if you are under 18 your opinion only counts as 1/3

Carly said...

aww, poor Nate. You have to remember, he has the brain of a 50 year-old.

I'm ok with whatever the majority would like to do. I guess my only hang up with the Mexico thing is not being settled in one place the whole time, but it's ok. I'm sure there are a lot of cool things to see.

If only I could speak Spanish!! I guess I could fake it like Dad does.

Donde esta el porto de bano?

Carly, I understand the moving around thing...the kids! But some of us will get bored with just a beach vacation. And the ruins are very cool, especially Chichen Itza. And, we would get to spend a little time in a non-touristy part of MX, which is really cool, too. Everyone says Cancun is like the U.S., there are so many Americans.

Nate, maybe you should use that 50 year old brain of yours and read up on the history of MX.

Just a little disclaimer: by using me as a travel agent, we are taking a slight risk that the places won't be as nice and the flight times won't be as convienient. I'm really trying hard, though! It should be great...but I am an amatuer. (sp??)

Oh, p.s. Carly--do you and Casey and Cadence mind sharing a hotel room with some people? Would you bring the pack n play for Cadence?

Don't worry, I'm not assigning rooms, persay, but just trying to see if 5 rooms is enough.

KC said...

I prefer to sleep in a tent, so don't book a room for me. I am planning on making myself bait for the chupacabra and then catching him.

debora said...

Back to Rob's comment. You ought to know how difficult it can be to get Dad's attention. Twenty second time limit, right Scott?(private joke)
I vote for the MX experience. It will only get more difficult to do as the family gets bigger.
Lindsay, you're great.

debora said...

p.s. Bob you are great too.
Casey, explain chupacabra.

Carly said...

I'm sure Rob can fill you in on the chupacabra.

Of course Casey and I don't mind sharing a room. Whoever shares with us though has to deal with Casey frequently waking and crying all night long.

KC said...

I doubt I will even be in at night. Senor Frogs is calling.

Rob said...

I vote for Mexico if it is reasonable.

Lindsay said...

Okay, guys, I'm booking it.
