Translation

Cadence likes to hula-this has nothing to do with the post.

Since we are leaving for Mexico in two months, I figured we should start practicing our Spanish. Besides vamos a cantar, that is about most of what I know. I'm thinking we could ask a question in English and have one of our many Spanish speakers translate for us.

I'll start, how do you say: Where is the nearest hang gliding store so I can search for my lost child ?

Hmmm....I'll give it a try.

Por favor, ayudame. Soy un padre que no se cuida su hija muy bien y en vez de buscarla, quiero volar en las nubes como un pajaro loquisimo. Me puede ayudar?

I don't know, my Spanish is pretty rough. This is good practice.

Almost it's actually:

Soy un gringo tonto, ayudame!

KC said...

Haha. I think I will just ask Lindsay to translate from now on.

Sean just doesn't know how to say it, Casey. So much for his Spanish. :)

Lindsay did you say Casey was a father who doesn't care for his daughter very well? Maybe I just don't understand.
My turn, how do you say: I am a mother of eleven children who has completely lost her mind and then some.

Soy la madre de once hijos hermosos que son las jollas de mi vida.

Es la verdad!

Mi mujer está loca. Ella quiere gritar en mí todo el tiempo. Ella piensa que mi humor es terrible. Por otro lado, yo pienso que debo ser el jefe y yo no necesito a mi mujer que me dice lo que hacer.

debora said...

Ahhhh! but I love telling you what to do.
I guess it wasn't Dad who sent me flowers today.
How's that humor? le gusta el jefe?

Lindsay said...

I hope you're the only one who le gusta el jefe, Mom.

Also, you're right about my translation. I took a little creative license on that.

Nice, Dad. That's way more Spanish than I heard you speak when you were with Rob and I in MX.

What the heck;

P.S.- Dad just used a simple translation site for that one guys, F.Y.I.

Bob C said...

OK. I won't use a translation site.

Lo siento much por mi joka posta. Yo te amo, mujer.

Sean said...

It was probably nate on his account again.

Lindsay said...

Yeah, I was going to say that it was a translation site, but it doesn't seem like a very good one.

Yeah, I copied and pasted dad's post onto a translation site and it said at the end, "I like the chief?"
What? Is that really what he was saying? I wish I could speak Spanish. No fair.

Lindsay said...

Jefe can mean chief, but he meant it as the boss.

It can also be slang for parents--Mis jefes no entienden lo que es padre, pues.
