Mission Call

For all those that are interested, Josh got his mission call! He's going to the Brazil Rio de Janeiro Mission, and he reports to the Sao Paulo MTC on January 30th. He's very excited and anxious to get out there.

This is no news to Rob, who ran into Josh's Dad in the bathroom at church, and Scott, who's in Josh's ward and sat in on Josh's ordination on Sunday with me and the rest of Josh's family. Ah, the joys of going to BYU and having all three of our wards meet in the same building around the same time.

Yea it was funny. I was in the bathroom and the guy in the urinal next to me just starting talking to me. I gave him sort of a "huh?" response and he said "Oh I thought you were my son." He then said that his sons were ___ and Josh Dooley, so I said "Oh, well do you know who's brother I am?"

Congratulations to Josh. What an amazing mission. Scott, I hope you give him some pointers in portuguese and on Brazil life.

Wow! Congrats to Josh, he'll be a great missionary I'm sure since he's quite the businessman. That's really exciting.

Rob-that is super random.

How exciting! Tell Josh congrats, Kel. He will be a great missionary; people will like him. Rio, huh? I'm sure Carnival time (or whatever it's called) will be an interesting experience there. :)

Yeah, Rob, that is quite random. I thought there was an unspoken rule that you weren't supposed to use the urnials right next to each other? I guess if you're related, or think you are, it's okay? :)

Well I usually don't talk to someone else who is in the urinal, but he just started talking and I didn't see a bluetooth headset on him, so I had to respond. I did hesitate for like 3 seconds though.

oh don't mind me, I'm an outcast black sheep in an exiled ward out yonder. Word don't get round these parts till Freddie Joe comes back from the big city market wit da fish n grits. If we be lucky he gets an earful of gossip and brings us word. By golly where would we be wit out young freddie joe...

Anyhow that's very good news! Josh very much so reminds me of my trainer... he'll do great!

The mission changes you in big ways. He will have an amazing time!

tu hablas la verdad, sean :) but it will be so good for him! la mission le va a cambiar, pero solo si el lo permite.

Okay no foreign languages unless you translate. ;) Just kidding. Sean, I seriously always laugh out loud when I read your posts. You're quite funny.

And I don't know what you're talking about mom, I strike up conversations all the time in the ladies rooms. I don't usually get responses but I definitely get weird looks.

Josh is in for a culture shock like he never imagined? is that it Sean?
and who is Freddie Joe? Are you having an identity crisis?-either you are a poor white southern boy or an hombre from the heart of Mexico. I'm laughing again. Life is good.
I don't think Josh will be flashing any pictures of his car on the mission.:)

I will have to meet up with him when I go to Carnival this year.

Sean, when are you going to write a book? You'd do great with dialect--your post reminded me of The Cay. Although I always hate reading dialect.

Estoy de acuerdo con Sean y Whitney. Y muy bien hecho, Mom. Pero tu puedes entender asi cuando solo estas escuchando?? Vamos a ver.

By the way, welcome Whitney!

I can understand what you're saying pretty well Sean, and I thought your post was slightly rude. Oh but it must be true since you know Josh SO well! :) Kidding.

Carly said...

Oh yeah, Welcome Whitney, so glad you're posting!
