HAPPY BIRTHDAY to WOOKIE!!

I wanted to be cool and be the first to say Happy Birthday to our latest one-year-old( I know it's not til' tomorrow)!! It's hard to imagine that this time last year Mr. Wookie was inside his mommy. Little did she know she'd be lugging around a baby 3 times the size a short year later!! I hope you have a great birthday Lukie. Cadence says she misses you and to have a fun day. Hopefully for your present you'll feel better and sleep like an angel!

GOOD LUCK!

To Rob and Whintey:

Starting tomorrow your life will be over. hahahah.....okay just kidding. I just wanted to say before we headed off....good luck and I'm really happy for you two! Whitney couldn't be cooler if she tried. Enjoy being newlyweds, seems like forever ago for us. I feel like I've been married for a million years.

Okay, okay just kidding Casey I love you.

We'll see you both tomorrow! Woohoo!

And Happy Valentine's day everyone. Ryan and Dad, I hope you did something nice for your wives today. Although I told Casey we were boycotting this holiday altogether. It's a waste of money!

And in the left corner weighing a staggering 25 lbs.......

Cadence..... Marie.....Bingham!!!! We were just messing around the other night and we found this robe for Cadence in storage and put it on after her bath. As you can tell from the video, she got a kick out of wearing it. I told Casey she looks like a boxer. She starts singing Ring Around the Rosie. She likes the "ashes ashes...we all fall down" part.

Suits on Wedding day

Men (and boys), please wear a dark suit with a white shirt and a red, brown, or cream colored tie (the wedding colors) for the wedding. Your wives or mom should have samples of the colors. Please wear a tie that is close to that as possible. Thanks. We're looking forward to seeing you all.

It's OK

Mom, it's OK. He will run again in '12 after 4 years of good old Hillary. Maybe then there won't be some annoying TV evangelist around to mess it up.

1953-1961

My father had two very high quality cameras, a 35-mm Kodak and a camera I can't identify, which took rigid-frame black and white negatives about 4 by 4 inches. The black and whites in Germany are of superb quality.

The color shots were slides taken with the 35-mm. It was tough for me to scan these because of the dust problem.

The earliest shots are of my parent's honeymoon at Zion National Park. After the honeymoon my parents lived in Boulder.

The shots reflect our family's posting at Laredo and McAllen in 1955 and then Germany until 1958. The final shots are in 1961 in Salt Lake City, roughly the time of my father's decease.

1961-66

When I was in first grade my mother bought me a used box camera for $5, a big clunky thing about twenty or thirty years old. It used large film, larger than 35 mm, so the photos, both black and white and color, turned out to be high quality. The prints we made were cheap and small, so these reproductions are the best I can get.

The flash photography was made with a modern, later, camera which used bulbs. The film was smaller and of poorer quality.
