I'll admit, I'm a bit nervous; Lakers have had our number this year. However, had the Nuggets been matched up against New Orleans, NO would have slowed the game down and made both teams play half-court basketball. It's no surprise that Denver does not like to play half-court basketball. I think this will be a very exciting series to watch because there will be a lot more running and pushing the ball quickly up the floor by both teams. This plays into Denver's hands. I hope Bynum is healthy and ready to play so that there are no excuses when the series is over and the Nuggets upset the #1 seed again like they did against George Karl's Supersonics in '94!

Good luck my SoCal family!!!

P.S. Bob, please don't put on your Melo jersey for the duration of the series--we don't need any of your bad karma.

Hmmm, I'm honestly not quite sure who I'll ultimately be rooting for. Am I hoping for a happy husband or a former hometown team win (or, I guess, a happy long distance fam)???

Really, though, I don't think the Nuggets stand a chance. Horrible defense. (per Ryan) What will probably happen is that they'll win the first game, get all the Denverites' hopes up and then they won't bring their A-game to the next games because they'll think, oh we already beat this team, we don't have to try. Am I right or am I right, Ryan?

Lindsay you are being too generous. The nuggets won't win one game.

Rob said...

Also, average margin of victory = 20 points.

Ryan said...

Rob, don't set yourself up for embarrassment.

Lindsay said...

Yeah, I don't know Rob. The Nuggets can play well if they really the put the effort in; but they don't much. I think they've suprised some teams in the past.

The last thing the Lakers need to do is be smug and overconfident.
I'm just looking forward to seeing some great basketball.
Lindsay you're not really torn as to who to root for are you? C'mon now.

How many games are on the weekend?? Any game on a Saturday, Sunday, or Monday will be rough on the Nuggets. Those seem to be Melo's recovery days from the partying.

How close is Eagle to Denver? Reunion for Kobe?

So, who is the hacker who is changing all the posts? I can't take anything seriously anymore! I guess I really didn't anyways, knowing our family

Tadd, you're not even giving the Lakers one game? Fair-weather fan.

Tadd said...

I knew that would happen.

The series will be over in 4 in favor of the Lakers.

Also, didn't the original post say time to break out the Melo jersey?

What the heck;

Embarrassed by your comment, Tadd? You're funny.

No, not embarrassed. It's just that when I typed, I knew someone would manipulate it for not being too specific.

Watch out! Jazz are on the way to sweeping the Rockets. Hopefully the Lakers will get by the Nuggets so the Jazz can wipe them out next.

Lindsay said...

Ha ha ha...funny!

debora said...

Good one Davy.

Rob said...

Actually...the Jazz are frighteningly good. They are probably the second best team in the west behind the Lakers. That will be a tough series if they do meet in the next round.

These Nuggets, however, are real pushovers. How many dunks and layups did Gasol have yesterday? Seemed like 100.

I think the real hero of the game was Odom. He really had inspired play. I like the one dribble behind the back and a pass. When Odom' is hot the Lakers are unstoppable.

I'm glad we canceled Church yesterday to watch the game. And, yes, Dave, I am afraid of Boozer and the rest of the Utah thugs.

KC said...

Spurs are tougher than the Jazz. Lakers should be worried about them or the Suns, not the Jazz.

Ryan said...

I didn't get to see the game, but I was reading how George Karl said even Kobe Karl could have made the shots Gasol was making. Must have been pretty bad. Denver's defense is a joke.

Lindsay said...

Maybe ole George should focus on his team's defense instead of ripping on his boy, huh?
